Prof. Tao makes a speech
Professor Tao interpreted the development and future of economic globalization from two aspects, i.e., "the prerequisite and the disruptive forces of economic globalization". She pointed out that peace, openness, connectivity, inclusiveness and diversity, development and justice are the indispensable conditions for economic globalization. The smooth advancement of economic globalization relies on a fair, just and efficient governance system and a sound infrastructure. However, in recent years, the yet-to-be-complete global governance system that has gradually taken shape in the international community has been repeatedly hit. As a result, while various disruptive forces are constantly amassing, economic globalization is also being severely threatened. She concluded with Churchill’s speech: “The price of greatness is responsibility” and “All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope”.
