On June 17, a delegation led by Wu Dinghai, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences, visited China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR). President Wu's delegation includes Mo Daxi, Director of the Scientific Research Society of Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences, and Lin Li, the office teacher. CCSEZR faculty members and professor representatives participated in the meeting.

Prof. Tao Yitao introduced CCSEZR from the aspects of growth milestone, base and discipline development, research characteristics, academic brand, research team, international exchanges, as well as opportunities and challenges. She then introduced the development history, achievements and international influence of the the Belt and Road Research Institute (Shenzhen) for Internationale Cooperation and Development (BRRI).
President Wu Dinghai expressed full affirmation and appreciation for CCSEZR achievements and breakthroughs in all aspects. He believed that the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) research of Shenzhen University (SZU), CCSEZR in particular is a discipline that features long history, remarkable achievements and distinctive characteristics in the field of social sciences in Shenzhen. It is also a characteristic discipline that will continue to make breakthroughs and great progress in the building of Shenzhen School among the liberal arts of Shenzhen University in the future! CCSEZR should take actions in response to the series of national strategies and local major needs regarding the building of the Greater Bay Area and the pilot demonstration area, and answer the important theoretical question of "how can the SEZ develop better?". In the future, CCSEZR should continue to leverage its theoretical heritage and academic advantages to provide theoretical support and policy consultancy services for Shenzhen SEZ to play a leading demonstration role in the comprehensive deepening of reforms. He believed that with the strong support from Shenzhen Federation of Social Sciences and the Academy of Social Sciences, as well as the strong leadership of SZU and the efforts of all colleagues, CCSEZR will definitely develop further and become better reputed as the key research base of the Ministry of Education!
President Wu also spoke highly of the development of BRRI. He believed that this new type of think tank established by Jinglan Group and SEZ will remain true to its original aspiration and keep its mission firmly in mind, serve the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), help promote “China's Path”, and provide experience and reference for emerging market economies in addressing development problems. It has made unique contributions in promoting “China's Path” and introducing the successful experience of China's SEZs represented by Shenzhen SEZ.
President Wu also introduced the ideas and framework of social sciences tasks in Shenzhen, and envisioned how the social sciences research and the Shenzhen School can improve and develop in Shenzhen, the most successful SEZ in the world. He also responded to the development needs of CCSEZR, saying that Shenzhen Federation of Social Sciences Associations and the Academy of Social Sciences will continue to support the SEZ research of CCSEZR!

During the visit, the two sides talked about exchanges, cooperation and research, and conceived specific measures to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the future. At last, Director Tao Yitao expressed her gratitude to Mr. Wu for his recognition of the achievements of CCSEZR and BRRI. Under the leadership of Shenzhen Federation of Social Sciences Associations, the Academy of Social Sciences and SZU, CCSEZR and BRRI will serve national strategies and accommodate local government needs, and help facilitate development of the Shenzhen School and Shenzhen University disciplines. They are expected to strengthen their own characteristics, seek more development possibilities, and innovate for the prosperity and development of Shenzhen's humanities and social sciences, as well as for the high-level growth of SZU.
