On the morning of June 12th, Prof. Duan Peijun, academic leader on the Science of Strategy, and head of the Bay Area Strategy Research Section for high-end thank tank at China’s Central Party School, led a delegation of six to visit China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR) Shenzhen University, and held a meeting with Prof. Yuan, Deputy Director of CCSEZR, to conduct field research and have academic exchange with scholars in Shenzhen on the national strategy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (the Greater Bay Area). Also attending the meeting were Prof. Li Fan, assistant to director of CCSEZR, and teacher representatives including Ma Limei, Li Tong and Liang Yiran.
Prof. Yuan first introduced to the delegation the history and achievements of SZU in the last decade when SZU witnessed skyrocketing growth in its comprehensive strengths. He particularly laid weight on the history and milestone events of CCSEZR that make it a key research base for humanities and social sciences under the Ministry of Education, and showed the academic team of CCSEZR and a crop of research results from the team. On request of Prof. Duan’s research group, Prof. Yuan introduced the extension of the SEZ concept and the expansion of the research fields to incorporate the concepts of new zone, free trade zone, comprehensive reform pilot zone and Greater Bay Area into the SZE research scope to stay abreast of the times. With PowerPoint slides, he showed the changes and accomplishments of CCSEZR since its inception.
The Party School of the CPC Central Committee is the highest seating of learning for training middle and senior leaders and backbone officials of Marxist theory for the CPC, and an important organization directly affiliated to the Party Central Committee. Prof. Duan is the academic leader on the Science of Strategy, head of the Bay Area Strategy Research Section for high-end thank tank at China’s Central Party School, and also the founder of the Philosophy of Strategy. The strategic thoughts proposed by Prof. Duan, such as the economic belts including the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta and Beijing-Tianjin-Bohai Sea Bay taking the lead in innovation and transformation, the “strategic management” and “open and growth-based innovation” of China’s enterprises, have had a significant impact on the national, regional and enterprise development. With this visit to CCSEZR, Prof. Duan wished to make full use of the disciplinary features of the Philosophy of Strategy of China’s Central Party School, and the geographical advantage of CCSEZR in the Greater Bay Area and its role as a think tank for partnership on the construction of the Bay Area, and intensify bilateral academic cooperation through jointly holding bay area forum, and world SEZ forum.
The two sides donated some research results to each other and expressed their hope of deepened cooperation in more fields in the future.
