On the evening of September 5, the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR) held an online opening ceremony to welcome the Class of 2022 majoring in "Economics and Data Science”, a micro major of CCSEZR. Attending the ceremony were Prof. Tao Yitao, Director of CCSEZR and Director of the Belt and Road Institute for International Cooperation and Development (Shenzhen), Prof. Li Fan, Deputy Director of CCSEZR, Associate Prof. Zhang Ping, Deputy Director of CCSEZR, Ms. Ma Limei, Ms. Miao Lu, Ms. Huang Yiheng, Ms. Lai Mianshan and Ms. Hou Jia, Assistant Professors of CCSEZR, Ms. Liang Yiran, Undergraduate Teaching Secretary, and undergraduate students of Class 2022. Prof. Li Fan presided over the ceremony.

At the ceremony, the faculty briefly introduced all the courses of the micro major and expressed their warm welcome to the first class of undergraduates. Associate Prof. Zhang Ping, Deputy Director of CCSEZR, introduced to the students the "Yifeng-Jiebubao" special scholarship for outstanding students in Theoretical Economics, as well as the reading room and multi-function activity room in Huiwen Building, hoping that the students could fully utilize the study resources.

Ms. Lai, the representative of teachers, welcomed the students who joined the micro major of "Economics and Data Science". Only in this way will they be able to prepare themselves for future changes in this era of uncertainty.

In the end, Prof. Tao gave a concluding speech: CCSEZR, the formerly Institute of Special Economic Zone Research of Shenzhen University, is the first think tank of Shenzhen University with a doctoral degree in liberal arts, and is an influential academic think tank in China. The faculty of CCSEZR is a young and international team with a sound academic background. She hope that as the first session of undergraduate students that CCSEZR enrolled in over twenty years, and also the first pipeline of undergraduates funded by social scholarship since the recruitment of graduate students, they should try to learn to meet practical needs and gain more professional knowledge in academic career with the resources and platform provided by CCSEZR.
