At the symposium, Prof. Tao Yitao spoke highly of the achievement of the industrial zone and gave credit for the sound combination and implementation of the Belt and Road policy of China and the eastern economic corridor policy of Thailand as she found during her visits to the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand in the morning and to the industrial zone in the afternoon. She also expressed her hope for a bilateral discussion on how domestic non-governmental organizations should play their role against the backdrop of enterprises’ going-global trend.

Prof. Liu Yi, deputy director of the BRRIICD, asked about the difference between Japanese enterprises and Chinese ones that invested in Thailand and the distinction between Thailand’s and China’s labor costs. Other members put forward questions about how Chinese enterprises fulfill their social responsibility in Thailand, whether they should participate in charity activities in Thailand and language issues of local workers and technical staff training. Assistant to the President Yue Qun answered all the questions.
