On May 7, a twelve-member group consisting of leaders and project officials from the Belt and Road Research Institute (Shenzhen) for International Cooperation and Development (BRRIICD), the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research, Shenzhen University (CCSEZR), the Shenzhen Social Organizations Federation (SSOF) and the Yupengnian Charity Foundation, led by Prof. Tao Yitao, vice president of the Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC) and vice secretary of CPC Committee of SZU, visited the Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone, in company with Mr. Kornphattawee, director of Rayong Provincial Industry Office, and two other leaders of Thai non-governmental organizations. The group was warmly received by Assistant to the President Yue Qun and Leasing Manager Song Ying on behalf of the industrial zone who gave detailed information about the structure and development of the industrial zone as well as concerns and support from Chinese and Thai governments. The two sides also held a lively discussion on issues such as Thailand’s preferential policies for investors, investment climate, status quo on the zone and its advantages.
Video presentation and introduction by the leasing manager revealed the investment climate in Thailand and complete infrastructure, superior Chinese community and excellent teams and services of the zone to the group.
At the symposium, Prof. Tao Yitao spoke highly of the achievement of the industrial zone and gave credit for the sound combination and implementation of the Belt and Road policy of China and the eastern economic corridor policy of Thailand as she found during her visits to the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand in the morning and to the industrial zone in the afternoon. She also expressed her hope for a bilateral discussion on how domestic non-governmental organizations should play their role against the backdrop of enterprises’ going-global trend.
Prof. Tao Yitao presents the publications of the CCSEZR to Yue Qun, assistant to the president of the Rayong Industrial Zone.
