A Delegation Led by Chen Lin Visits CCSEZR

On the afternoon of September 6, 2021, a Shenzhen Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) party group delegation led by Chen Lin visited the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR), Shenzhen University (SZU) and the Belt and Road Research Institute (Shenzhen) for International Cooperation and Development (BRRI). Li Yonghua, Vice President of Shenzhen University, met with the delegation led by Chen Lin. Chen Lin was accompanied by Zhang Qingzhu (Deputy Director of the General Office of the CPPCC), Wang Jian (Director (Chief) of the Research Room (General Division) of the General Office of the CPPCC), and Cai Jiao (Research and Consulting Office of the CPPCC). Attendees of the meeting and symposium included Prof. Tao Yitao (Director of CCSEZR and President of BRRI), Prof. Yuan Yiming (Deputy Director of CCSEZR), Prof. Li Fan (Deputy Director of CCSEZR), Associate Prof. Zhang Ping (Assistant to Director), etc.
 
Vice President Li Yonghua first extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Chen Lin on behalf of SZU. Vice President Li Yonghua introduced to Chen Lin the teaching, scientific research and talent fostering of SZU, saying that SZU, as the first comprehensive university in Shenzhen, is in the same direction and pace with the national and urban development strategies, and cultivates people for the Party and the country. The path taken by this university is vivid evidence of “China's Path” and “Shenzhen Miracle”.
Prof. Yuan Yiming introduced the development history, research achievements and talent fostering of CCSEZR to the guests. CCSEZR has long been committed to the research on basic economic theories, special economic zones (SEZ) and frontier issues of China’s reform and opening-up. It has always been at the forefront of the research on China’s SEZs, comparison between Chinese and foreign SEZs, as well as SEZ and Chinese path. Since its inception, CCSEZR has had a extensive academic influence on the research of comparison between Chinese and foreign SEZs, and SZE issues, and has always adhered to the concept of “conducting international research and going global”, making unique contributions in publicizing the China's Path and introducing the successful experience of China’s SEZs typified by Shenzhen.
Chen Lin thanked SZU for attaching great importance to this research symposium and Vice President Li  Yonghua for meeting them despite his busy schedule, and expressed his recognition and appreciation for the rapid progress made by SZU in recent years, as well as his sincere admiration for the contributions made by CCSEZR to the development of SEZs. He hoped to promote specific cooperation and exchanges between the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Research Association (SSEZRA) and CCSEZR in the future, and to conduct cooperative research on issues such as SEZs and China's Path, Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He expressed his hope that through this research symposium, the future cooperation between the two sides can produce substantial fruits and jointly contribute to the construction of the pilot demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Prof. Tao Yitao made a concluding speech, saying that the visit of the CPPCC delegation led by Mr. Chen Lin was a recognition of the academic achievements and social influence of CCSEZR, and that CCSEZR, as a key research base for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, would continue to uphold the concept of “conducting international research and going global”, exploring with perseverance and forging ahead with innovation. Prof. Tao further expressed her hope that in the future, CCSEZR, BRRI, Shenzhen CPPCC and SSEZRA will develop more all-round and multi-disciplinary collaboration to create a better future together.

The research symposium ended in a friendly atmosphere and representatives from both sides took a group photo.
